Thomas B. Scully, M.D., Neurosurgeon, receives the July 2006 Perioperative Physician of the Month at Northwest Medical Center. Here is what the Department of Surgery said about Dr. Scully in his nomination, "Dr. Scully exhibits our hospital's values in ways that make him most deserving of this award: Teamwork: Dr. Scully is friendly in the Operating Room as well as in the pre op holding and PACU areas. He has a wonderful sense of humor which is a blessing in a stressful environment. His jocularity, friendly attitude, and kindness are attributes that are truly appreciated. Excellence: Dr. Scully has wonderful outcomes and his patient's have consistently good results. His history and physicals are consistently available in Meditech preoperatively. Humanity: Dr. Scully was once witnessed driving a patient home who did not have a ride. He routinely takes nervous patients and makes them feel better prior to surgery. Service: Dr. Scully frequently offers educational in-services to staff, all in the interest of better patient care. When working, he is consistently punctual and efficient. Integrity: Dr. Scully takes responsibility for his actions. He does not place blame, and is more concerned with his patient's well being.
